A woman named Orlene sets out to find a magical item which can bring her dead baby back to life, but on the way she encounters a spiritual revolution. A baby named Gawain dies of a birth defect. The baby belongs to a woman named Orlene. Orlene is involved in the world of magic and is looking for someone or some spell to bring her baby back to life. A person named Nox agrees to help Orlene. Nox, a magical being called an Incarnation, explains that there are items that she needs in order to bring Gawain back to life. The items are in possession of each of the other seven Incarnations.

Orlene sets out to find the items from the Incarnations. She takes her friend Jolie and Vita with her. During their quest for the items, they have great realizations about Good and Evil. The three of them obtain the item from each of the Incarnations except one. God was the Incarnation that they could not retrieve the item from. God was given the position of the Incarnation of Good. The God in this story does not respond to the outside world because he is constantly celebrating his greatness.
The three women tell the other incarnations about God's neglect of duty as the Incarnation of Good. The small counsel decides to impeach God as the Incarnation of Good because he is too busy for the position. They want someone active who can help them defeat evil one day. The battle between good and evil begins being fought in a political battle.
The people in control are convinced by the counsel, and they impeach God as the Incarnation of Good. They decide to put a mortal there that will pay attention. All the Incarnations must vote for a new Incarnation of Good. They all vote for Orlene to be the new Incarnation of Good.
Since Orlene took the place of God, she becomes God herself. She uses her powers to bring Gawain back to life. Orlene let Nox keep Gawain, since she will be busy with her position as the Incarnation of Good.
