In the late 1800's Nanner Coleman's wedding to Grady Sheldon is the talk of Larsen, Texas. Banner, the much beloved daughter of Lydia and Ross Coleman, is marrying the man of her dreams and anxious to become a wife and mother. When a woman bursts into the church on the day of the wedding and announces she is pregnant with Grady's child, Banner calls off the wedding in disgrace.
