Molly Duncan is at war with her sexy neighbor, and one night when he plays his music too loud, she tries to call him to tell him to stop. She accidently calls the wrong number, however, and listens to a man being murdered. The killer picks up the phone. She calls the cops and annoys her neighbor, but he takes her seriously the next day when her house is broken into.
Sam lets Molly stay at his house until her security system is installed, and she helps him work through debilitating headaches that put him on temporary retirement from the Air Force. Molly, a speech and language specialist, recognizes the killer when she sees an ad on TV. He is a famous politician.
With Sam's help, she tries to scare the killer, but when he learns Molly can identify him, he tries to kill her and Sam. Sam almost dies trying to save Molly.
