This comes as a surprise to the residents of Miss Blacklock's home, but they assume it is some sort of joke or party idea. Accordingly, many townspeople turn up that night, expecting a murder mystery party. But, to everyone's surprise, when the lights go out, a true murder is committed. The victim is unknown to everyone, and the local police are stumped. Fortunately, Miss Marple just happens to be in the neighborhood...
