Sarah Lancaster has one burning ambition in her life - to be a respected and sought after architect. When Sarah is hired by Haladay Enterprises, the most well known and respect architectural firms in the country, she agrees to relocate from New York city to Phoenix in order to take the job. Maxwel Haladay, owner of Haladay Enterprises, is known world wide for his architectural talent and his business savvy. The moment Sarah meets Byron Lloyd, Maxwel's right hand man, she feels an instant connection. Although Byron is rakishly handsome and brilliant, he has a history as a womanizer. When Byron sets eyes on Sarah he is startled by the feelings that the beautiful architect arouses within him. Up till this point Byron has never allowed a woman to get under his skin. As the attraction between Sarah and Byron grows, Byron makes the decision to send Sarah to Paris to work on a project. Byron feels that if Sarah is out of sight he will no longer be tormented by thoughts of her. Although Sarah is a bit bruised by being sent to Paris she also realizes that loving Byron was a one-sided proposition. Sarah throws herself headlong into the Parisian project, which is marred by an accidental death of one of the project planners. Sarah quickly falls into an affair with a handsome Frenchman, Januel, a man who has a secret and manipulative agenda. When Sarah discovers that Januel has been romancing her as a means of making inroads at Haladay Enterprises she kicks him to the curb and heads back to the States. Unable to resist their still smoldering attraction, Byron and Sarah reunite and impulsively decide to get married. Although Sarah is on top of the world, it isn't long before Byron's fear of committment rises to the surface and jeopardizes their marriage.
