Deanna was a single mother struggling to make a life for her and her son when her apartment was destroyed in a fire. Kevin instantly becomes attached to Sean and Deanna finds herself dragged along. She has been burned once by a man and isn't sure she wants to become involved with another, particularly one who isn't interested in forever.
Regardless of his fear of commitment Sean is drawn to Deanna and begins finding reasons to see her, like taking the whole fire crew to the restaurant where she works for their lunch. Sean's reunion with one of his long-lost brothers makes him begin to rethink his position on love and marriage.
