Meanwhile, Pol is now a ruling prince. He is training to be the prince that his parents always wanted him to be. Pol learns that dragons are being hunted so he travels to Elktrap Manor with his friends Riyan and Sorin. A battle ensues with a dying dragon and Sorin is killed.

As everyone mourns for Sorin's death, Ruval calls for Prince Miyon to take over Pol's princedom. Pol goes to hide in Miyon's entrouage with Marron. Price Miyon plans to set up Pol by using a girl named Meiglan. Pol begins to like Meiglan even though he has suspicions of her.

Ruval challenges Pol to a fight, but Marron challenges Pol for their birthplace before him. Riyan accepts the challenge instead of Pol. As they begin to fight, Andry steps in and casts a spell which kills Marron. Andry kills Marron to get revenge for Sorin. Andry gets banned from the area.

Ruval and Pol fight. Pol must end any threat to his princedom so he can reign as the Prince.
Best part of story, including ending: What I liked about this story was that Pol was challenged for his princedom and came out on top. He defeated all the people and proved that he was the best.

Best scene in story: The best part of the book was the fight between Ruval and Pol. This was a long-awaited match that was of epic proportions.

Opinion about the main character: The thing I liked about Pol was that he was very skilled as a prince. His abilities as a sorcerer were better than all the other sorcerers.
