Andrade assigns sorcerers Andry and Hollis to translate the scrolls. As they begin to translate the scrolls, they find out that the scroll is about ancient sorcery. A sorcerer named Segev wants to steal the scrolls, but fails.

Meanwhile, there is an assassination attempt on Pol's life. Pol must proclaim his position of Prince of Princemarch. Pol passes through Princemarch with Rohan. Another assassination attempt is made on Pol's life, resulting the death of his friend Maeta.

In Rialla, Andrade learns from the translation of ancient scroll that she can show events from the past. During her attempt to use this spell, she is killed by a spell cast by Segev.

A debate begins about whether or not Masul is Roelstra's son and heir. A duel is decided between Masul and Pol. Pol and Masul fight involves everyone and everything is decided in this fight.
Best part of story, including ending: What I liked about this story was the use of ancient sorcery. The information they found on the scroll was what they used to do things in sorcery that no one has done for years.

Best scene in story: The best part was when Pol and Masul fight. This was a good part because they are both talented so they had a good fight.

Opinion about the main character: What I liked most about Pol was that he always kept his princedom no matter who challenged him. His skill set was above all others.
