Millionaire music executive Marcel Taylor is handsome, well built, rich and successful, Marcel could have his pick of any woman in Atlanta. Dubbed Casanova Brown by his childhood friends Solomon and Ophelia, Marcel has spent most of his adult life living up to his romeo image. Finally, after years of playing the field, Marcel is bored by his endless skirt chasing. Diana Guy is Marcel's plain Jane secretary at T & B Entertainment. Diana is a woman who secretly adores her roguish boss but would never dream of making a play for him. After all, Marcel dates model types and she is shy and does not consider herself Marcel's type. To complicate matters, Marcel has a strict policy against dating co-workers. Diana is a compassionate young woman who has been taking care of her cancer-stricken grandmother, nearly bankrupting herself in the process. When Marcel and his best buddy Solomon make plans to attend a masquerade ball, Solomon makes Marcel a wager that he will find him a wife at the ball. Rather than shy away from the bet, Marcel is gung-ho about it since he truly wants to settle down. Meanwhile, Diana is aware of the masquerade ball and of Marcel's intention of meeting his love buddy at the ball. After being prodded by her best friend, Tim, and her grandmother, Louisa, to attend the ball in disguise, Diana agrees that she will transform herself into a glamorous ingenue and steal Marcel's heart. After lightening her hair, adding hair extensions, placing green contacts in her eyes and wearing dramatic makeup and a sizzling dress, Diana's transformation is complete. Diana is now "Mayte" and when Marcel takes one look at her at the masquerade ball he starts to believe in love at first sight.
