This is an example of when good books go wrong. "Would I Lie To You" is the second installment of the "Nappily" series. The story starts off with Venus being in yet another relationship with a man who refuses to commit (this is tall, skinny Airic who we met at the end of the first book). He says he wants to marry Venus, but he won't give her a date. Airic "saved" her from her last relationship, but the thrill is now gone. Just as Venus starts longing for her ex, her career moves her across the country where she meets a new man who re-ignites her fire. His name is Jake and he is a famous entertainer who she now has to be in close contact with for work...

As Venus and Airic grow apart with the distance, she gets closer to Jake. Unfortunately, her mother presents heart wrenching news just when she is having complications of her own. Now she is caught up. Does she stay faithful to a man who refuses to make that move? Or does she take a leap of faith with a man who seems too good to be true?
Although this seems to be a bit of a strange departure from the first book (and a repeat of history) it is a decent read.

She seems to have totally forgotten everything from the first book. I hate that she is just as insecure, where is the character development/progression??
