Detailed plot synopsis reviews of In the Time of the Butterflies

Characters

Trujillo: Trujillo is the dictator of the Dominican Republic. Communist chicks don't dig him.

Minerva: Minerva is one of four Mirabel sisters. She lives in the Dominican Republic. She hates Trujillo and so becomes a communist terrorist and tries to overthrow him. She ends up in jail and gets beaten to death with a club. Wack wack wack!

Patria: Minerva is another Mirabel sister. Most of the Mirabel sisters don't have distinct personalities, the only differences seem to be that they have different names and are married to different guys.

Maria Teresa: Maria Teresa, also called "Mate", is another Mirabel sister. Aside from differences in the names of her husband and children, she is pretty indistinguishable from the other sisters.
