Eva Ibbotson Message Board

Amy posts on 5/24/2009 12:46:27 AM Ms. Ibbotson, you are without a doubt the best author of any book I have ever read. your books like The Morning Gift and A Song For Summer are so well written and have such fantastic plots that not only could i not put them down but i have read them over and over. How do you come up with such good plots. Where do you get such inspiration! your books should be made into movies instead of the things that they put out now! if you knew what effect your books made on me and my friends I am sure you be most pleased.

Emily posts on 10/3/2007 4:42:43 PM The Morning Gift by Eva Ibbotson would be a wonderful movie. The plot was very original and romantic. With some minor alterations, it could be made into a box office hit.

Taylor Dice posts on 6/30/2007 9:55:35 PM I just want Eva Ibbotson to know that I love her writing! It all started when I read The Secrets of Platform 13. Now I look for any book written by her. I am a 9 year old boy and I can't put her books down once I've started reading them. My mom likes to read them with me. I just finished Island of the Aunts and can't wait to get to the library to get another of her books. Keep up the good work Ms. Ibbotson! You've got me hooked on reading!

Anne Onomous posts on 6/28/2007 9:00:17 AM Mrs. Ibbotson, you are without a doubt the most wonderful author that this world has to offer. I have read every one of your books at least 5 times, except The Great Ghost Rescue, which I never seemed to be able to get through. Platform 13 (J.K. Rowling, that snake, completely ripped you off) was exceptionally funny, Dial-A-Ghost inventive, River Sea powerful, and when La Rondine was lifted up to heaven, it was so beautiful it made me cry. All your other books are waaay better than the comparitively mediocre Potter series.(Granite Falls is my favorite.)So, Mrs. Ibbotson, you might wonder what this is all leading up to, and it is this: pleasepleaseplease can we have a sequel for Platform 13, Granite Falls, River Sea, or Island of the Aunts? It would be the answer to my hopes and prayers (I've dreamt about it)and, I believe, many others's, too.
concerned mom posts on 4/24/2007 10:27:37 PM The Dial-a-ghost book concerns me. I think it's graphic and grusome and not appropriate for children. I have requested it be taken out of our elementary school library. Why talk about drinking animals blood and drilling holes in the bunnies brains? This desensitizing is scary and the violence and darkness of it is almost satanic. I don't think that is something to put into children's heads. If it was made into a movie it would be rated R for graphic, adult, violent content. Hopefully this will be posted and parents will read what their kids come home with. Just because it makes it to the library, doesn't make it appropriate. Nightmares & violence may follow....
