alabamagirl1 posts on 1/22/2009 9:18:53 PM Look all of you this is REAL! the whole thing the only reason Stephen King "claimed" it to be a hoax was becasue the house and Joyce were getting to much press to many nosiy people poking around. Now if you really care the nyou would be able to research more then the internet you cant believe everything you read on here. Joyce Reardon is real her records are held at the University as for wether she made it out of the house i cant be sure. but its real, its all real.
B posts on 1/8/2009 6:04:29 PM you guys are ***holes just cuz you don't believe doesn't mean it isn't real!

JES posts on 11/26/2008 3:56:00 PM ive been in this story since my dad told me about it wheni was younger like 5 or 6 and i am now 20 years old ive been studyin it for many years and nothin tells me if it is real or not but the diary of ellen rimbauer herself if this is a fake story did ellen every really wright anything down did john make posey killhim self i need to know this for i can put to rest me ever findin this house i hope it is for everyone who loves this story as much as i do
Elizabeth posts on 9/15/2008 12:00:44 AM How pathetic and stupid all of you are to believe that the House does not exist. Ellen Rimbauer is anything but some fictional character. Just because the house won't show itself to you, doesn't mean it isn't there. She will chose who is worthy to enter her walls. She will chose who to reveal herself to. Joyce Reardon is a stupid woman who upon entering the house, would not disappear but turn up dead.
Amy posts on 8/29/2008 4:11:40 PM Finally read the book...six years later. Interesting read, but it's not real. There are so many things that were pointed out in other posts to prove it. And one that wasn't mentioned, the copyright on the book is 2001...the mini series came out in 2002. Coincidence? I think not.
Doug posts on 8/18/2008 1:18:15 AM The story is fiction the Reardon character is fictious. I've to Thornewood mansion yes the house is real, it was built by Chester Thorne a founding father of Tacoma ( where the house is located. It is now a Bed and breakfast. go check it out it's quite cool. but as far as there every being a Rose red it's, as Penn and Teller say. Bullshit. it was based on the Winchester house, but they couldn't film it there.
Carrie May posts on 8/13/2008 2:33:16 PM I just want to know if Joyce and her team ever entered the house.
LILBIT posts on 8/6/2008 6:42:02 PM There is so much talk about this story being real or fiction. Everything I have seen leads me to believe it is fiction. Yes there is a web site that you can visit to look at missing diary entries but the ones that are displayed are entries in the book. Also the only page you can view on the website is the departments page but if you click on any of the departments (ex. Physics etc.) it takes you to the paranormal page. If there are missing entries where are they?
Millie posts on 7/26/2008 2:17:39 AM After re watching the mini series written by Stephen King, I decided to purchase and read the diary. It clearly states on page 190, heading of 19 February 1917 and I quote: (this is not one of Poe's gory inventions; no young girl who can set schools on fire; no dog that behaves as if possessed; no giant pendulum swinging to cut one in half!) unquote. Clearly two of these reference to CUJO and CARRIE. Which we all know are two of Kings best books.
