PWT posts on 6/15/2010 3:59:36 PM Sorry, I didn't really love this book. Plot line was good, but the concept of how the two main characters get together is pretty unreal. In this day and age, to have a 30 yr old, successful business owner woman allow a he-man that had walked out of her life two years prior and then just waltz back in and take total control over every aspect of her life is very unrealistic. I understand the sexual chemistry involved, but to have Blair react to him like a loose floozy, ready to get down and dirty EVERY time he touches her was pretty lame. Had Blair been more assertive with her feelings of betrayal, anger and hurt right from the get go (when Wyatt "manhandled" her at the police station) it would have been allot more believable and satisfying, in my opinion. I actually found myself getting angry for her (and at her for allowing it) whenever Wyatt used his brute force, superior attitude and position as a police Lieutenant to force Blair to do things his way. I didn't think most women now days enjoyed being treated like the "little woman" who doesn't know what's good for her and needs the big strong man to take care of her. Or the "woman doesn't want to have sex but she really does, so the man has to force himself on her against her will" scenarios. I thought that was rape? I guess it's not when you say no with your voice but your body says yes? Maybe I'm wrong in these assumptions. This book would have been allot more enjoyable for me if Blair had been portrayed as the independent, self sufficient business woman the author kept saying she was vs the compliant, unable to control her hormones however pissed off at the same time little "dumb-blond" she actually acted like whenever she was dealing with Wyatt. This book gets a big F for me.

susan posts on 12/17/2008 7:22:59 PM I love linda howard books. Some of the best are Heartbreaker, Open season (Great, very funny),Mackenzie's pleasure etc. Did not like Cover of night very much. Her older books are the best! I looked for a copy of Midnight Rainbow at my Library but no luck.... Judith McNaught , Shannon McKenna , Gaelen Foley and Lisa Kleypas are also great.
JOAN posts on 3/28/2008 8:47:14 PM would enjoy mystery/romance aboard an ocean cruise ship
Mariah posts on 2/9/2008 1:09:24 PM Ok, loved Drop dead gorgeous as a sunday afternoon read. It was great to sit back and really laugh. I just was wondering if anyone had heard if she was going to make another Blair mallory book in 2008?
Gina posts on 1/15/2008 1:20:53 PM I really wish Linda Howard had her own website - digging around to find upcoming releases etc can be painful!
