Wilbur Smith Message Board

posts on 6/28/2006 3:54:07 AM Kia ora Steve, Yep Sunbird was cool alright. Seem to be just wandering round his novels now until the next one. Just read A Sparrow falls again. Thats the sort of good vs evil story Wilburs good at too. Dirk vs Sean and Mark Anders made a ripping yarn. I actually first came across Sean in Burning shore- my first wilbur and even then you could sense there was more about him as I later found out. Cool
posts on 6/21/2006 5:40:54 PM "Eagle In The Sky" the story is about wealthy playboy who falls in love with a young Israeli woman, Emigrates and becomes a top pilot in the Israeli Air Force, then plot shifts...

posts on 6/15/2006 7:09:17 PM The next Novel should be a new courteny story which follows up golden fox and takes us through to today, Or a Balantyne Novel with a return to Zimbabwe (ne. Rhodesia) and a view into the tradgedy that Mugabee and his thugs have made of it.
posts on 6/15/2006 5:42:28 AM Kia ora John, Youve made me go and pull Sunbird off the shelf as I hadnt read it again for a while, I do love this story , The two halves, Now and then so to speak, I shall reread it when I finish this da vinci code. Yes the little titbits about this Quest have got my mind racing, I wonder could it be to do with that forgotten child? Or our fav warlock on the loose again? Yes It would be nice to see some of the other story lines sequelled.
posts on 6/13/2006 3:31:28 AM Just finished Sunbird as Ive been putting this one off. Ive heard it was special and wasnt disappointed- parallels between this and River God/ Seventh scroll but the whole disappearing civilisation thing was just mind blowing and left me thinking for days after. The Quest- another Taita novel seems to be next- looking forward to it as these ones add more mystery to the whole experience.
posts on 6/11/2006 11:31:33 PM Kate you are correct the child from this pregnancy is not mentioned in subsequent novels on the Courtneys. I have all the novels and can find no mention.
posts on 6/1/2006 12:50:53 AM at the end of The Sound of Thunder ruth courtney is heavily pregnant with seans child... i am very curious if anyone knows what became of this pregnancy. i have read and loved all of wilburs writings and would be extremely grateful if someone has any information in regards to this missing courtney baby
posts on 5/26/2006 10:22:09 PM I own and have read all of WS's novels. I have today completed Eye Of The Tiger for about the tenth time. I would really enjoy a sequel to this novel. I cannot find a site to communicate this message to WS directly. I find that WS's later books spend a lot of time developing the characters and the plot but then WS seems in a hurry to finish the story.
posts on 5/25/2006 4:08:53 AM It pains me to say i agree, I liked TOTS, but it was a bit weak.
