American soldeirs return from WWII to their hometown in Texas. They find a different battle to be fought. Mayor Tom Cantrell skims money from war veterans and runs things according to his corrupt views. George Meade follows his father's plan for him to be running with Mayor Cantrell, while other veterans form a party of their own to run against the mayor. Finally George realizes he's on the wrong side . . . but can they win against the powerful mayor Cantrell?
