Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Copycat

Sigourney Weaver stars as Helen Hudson, a criminal profiler and psychologist turned writer. She gives lectures on serial killers and the movie starts with her giving one. When it was over she was attacked by Daryll Lee Cullum (Harry Connick Jr.) in the bathroom. The movie then flashes forward 13 months and Hudson is suffering from agoraphobia and is totally housebound. Meanwhile detectives M.J. Monahan(Holly Hunter) and Reuben Goetz (Dermot Mulroney) get to a crime scene where they find a third murdered woman. It appears that this killer is copying famous serial killers patterns. After a phone call from Hudson, Goetz and Monahan go to visit her. Relcutant at first, Hudson eventually gives in and helps the detectives. But the the first real break doesnt come until Hudson gets a video of the next victim sent to her through the computer. When the detectives come back they figure out that its not just one serial killer this killer is copying, it's all of them in the order Hudson discussed them in her lectures. With a little help from Cullum via a video conference the detectives are able to figure out that the copycat is Peter Foley (William McNamara) but the police always seem to come up short as Foley set his sights on Hudson as his next intended target.
