Unfortunately, it doesn't turnout so good as his father don't really care about him and a cynical ten-year-old stepbrother who doesn't believe in Santa. Using his simple elf ways Buddy wins over his family and save Christmas. This movie is rated PG for mild language and is a very sweet and loveable movie.

Elf is the story of a human baby who was accidently taken back to the North Pole by Santa Claus one Christmas Eve. He is adopted by the elves, but because of his immense size and slowness, he never really fits into elf society. About thirty years later, when he discovers his true identity he travels to New York City to meet his real dad to "make gingerbread houses, go ice skating, and the occasional snuggle."

Buddy is horrifed to hear that his father is a heartless businessman who is on Santa's "naughty list". The father is embarassed by Buddy's enthusiasm and naivete, but after a DNA test, and some persuading by his new wife and son, reluctantly allows Buddy to stay with them.

Buddy spreads Christmas cheer at the Gimbels department store while falling in love with a disenchanted salesgirl. Buddy manages to win the affection of the people he meets with his big heart, but his father still only focuses on his work. After Buddy ruins an important business meeting, the father tells him to leave his life forever.   Devastated, Buddy runs away, only to find Santa Claus in trouble! There is not enough Christmas Spirit to keep his sleigh in the air! He has crash landed in Central Park and only buddy can save the day. While Buddy fixes the engine, his friends prompts everyone in the park to begin Christmas singing to raise the level of Christmas spirit. Even the father joins in, and realizes that his son really is a Christmas elf, and not a mental patient as previously thought.

Buddy the elf lives in the North Pole with Santa Clause. He discovers that he is not really an elf, but is in fact a human. His real father lives in New York City. Buddy decides to go to New York to meet his father. Buddy is truly a fish out of water in the big City.

This movie is a parody on christmas movies. The beginning is slow, but it moves along when Will Farrell comes alive. The movie uses both slapstick and regular humor, to get where its going.

An elf named Buddy who was adopted by elves as a baby has always lived as and believed he was an elf at the north pole. But one day he finds that he's human and he must go to New York and find his work-a-holic father who doesn't even know he exist. When he arrives he finds that our world is nothing like the sweetness of the north pole. Everyone has some humor but Will Ferrell is the completly the comic genius in this. This is a good family film but even if you don't want to feel all fuzzy inside this is worth it just to see Will Ferrell.
