Directed by John Kasdan, In The Land Of Women, stars Adam Brody - he of The O.C. fame - as Carter Webb, a young man who is trying to cope after his girlfriend leaves him. He attempts to do this by leaving his home in Los Angeles and going to Michigan to take care of his ailing grandmother - in place of his mother - although her illness seems to be psychosomatic.

While there Carter meets his grandmother's neighbors from across the street, Sara (played by Meg Ryan) and her two daughters. He eventually develops a deep friendship with Sara after confiding in her about his break up as well as navigating his friendship with daughter Lucy who may have started to develop feelings for him. So while trying to get over his girlfriend, Carter learns certain things about Sara's husband (Lucy's father), while trying to put himself back together before returning home to Los Angeles
Best part of story, including ending:
Didn't really like it as the plot wasn't that great nor did get to specific point. He leaves to get over his girlfriend
Best scene in story:
When Carter tells Lucy he's not the right man for her but there is someone for her. He's referring to someone specifically but doesn't say who.
Opinion about the main character:
Didn't like him. He did nothing to grab me, he knows he's not right for Lucy, but yet doesn't pursue Sarah while he's in Michigan. If his intent was to just develop a friendship with Sarah, why do things that make it seem he wants more?
