In the same week, Moose Malloy asks Philip Marlowe to find his girlfriend, Lindsay Marriott Philip to protect him, and Helen Grayle asks him to search for a missing jade necklace. Soon the three affairs become one and only case as Marriott is killed while he was delivering the jade necklace. Who's blackmailing whom in this typical Marlowe case and why does Helen Gray try to seduce the L.A. private eye ?
