When the police are called, detective Keegan (Tom Berenger) is sent over. He falls in love with Claire. He gets assigned to protect Claire until she can identify Venza, when he gets arrested, and testify against him in court.

Keegan goes to extremes to protect Claire. Venza makes several attempts on her life. Keegan and his wife Ellie split up because he is so preoccupied with this case. He and Claire admit to their mutual affection, but Keegan doesn't want to just leave his family.

Venza takes Keegan's family hostage, but is killed by Ellie. At the end, Claire leaves her boyfriend and goes to Europe to forget Keegan, while he goes back to his wife and son.

Best part of story, including ending: It's a suspense story that is played out well.

Best scene in story: Where they proclaim their love, but see it can't go anywhere.

Opinion about the main character: He is a stand up guy.
