Detailed plot synopsis reviews of A Streetcar Named Desire

This is the story of Blanche Dewitt, a fragile, aging, southern belle come to visit her sister and her brother in law. But Blanche and Stanley (the brother in law) engage in a deep battle, as she sinks further and further into madness, depressed by her wilting flowerlike appearence and age. Along the way she leads to drinking, and many more things further unveiled to her sister as soon as Stanley digs into her past and ruins her only chance at a marriage. For the one she would have married was a friend of Stanley's, a insecure, middle aged man. Why does Blanche struggle like this? Because every chapte of her life was written by men. And as her physical beauty wilts, her madness grows.
