Charlie Croker (Caine), fresh out of a British prison, designs a caper to steal $4 million in gold being transferred from China to Italy. The team will create a traffic jam in the streets of Turin and escape in Mini Coopers. Caine is winsomely charming, Noel Coward has a cute cameo as the imprisoned crime boss who finances the job, but the real star of this show is the chase scene -- through streets, over rooftops, inside sewers, and into the truck. This 1969 production also has a nifty ending that leaves everybody hanging ... literally.
