Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Tooth Fairy

A tough sports guys is sentenced to be the tooth fairy for a couple of weeks so that he learns how to be sensitive and gentle with children. Dwayne Johnson plays the main character of Derek who is a ice hockey player known for his brutality on the ice and his ability to knock his opponents teeth out. Because of this his teammates give him the nickname of "The Tooth Fairy" which he ignores. His callous arrogant attitude attracts the attention of the boss fairy of the real tooth fairy , named Lily (played by Julie Andrews). With her magical powers she sentences Derek to two weeks as the tooth fairy in order to straighten him out and get him in alignment with the kids, especially Tess (played by Destiny Whitlock) who is the six-year-old daughter of his girlfriend.

Derek thinks this is all a bad dream until he meets up with his new assistant, Jerry (played by Billy Crystal). Jerry gives Derek lots of things that will help him to do a good job as the Tooth Fairy such as a spray that makes him invisible, some stuff in a tube that he can use to make him smaller, some powder that erases anyone's memory, a signal horn that blows a loud sound which makes cats run away and some candies that make him bark like a dog.

Derek has to take care of Randy (played by Chase Ellison), who is the son of his girlfriend. Randy thinks Derek is an idiot. Tracy (played by Stephen Merchant) who works for the tooth fairy organization, tries to help Derek become a good tooth fairy. In spite of his initial resistance, Derek learns how to become a good tooth fairy from Tracy. To prove his skills as a tooth fairy Derek must retrieve the tooth of the little girl Tess. Derek succeeds in this and takes the tooth to Lily to prove what he accomplished. Having served his full sentence, Derek is covered with memory loss dust so he will not remember anything that happened. Randy becomes the drummer in the band like he wants and Derek finds romance with Carly (played by Ashley Judd) who is the mother of both Randy and the little girl Tess.
Best part of story, including ending: Derek is so clumsy as the tooth fairy at first, which is very amusing.

Best scene in story: The scene when Derek meets Jerry is really fun, where he is given all the cool stuff that helps him do the job of tooth fairy, like the invisible spray and memory loss powder.

Opinion about the main character: Derek softens as he experiences more and more of the magic until he is really a good genuine person that the kids love.
