Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Escape From Planet Earth

In this animation sci-fi film, the hero from the Planet Baab is astronaut Scorch Supernova (with the voice of Brendan Fraser). Everyone on Baab thinks Scorch is a hero because, at the beginning of the movie he rescues babies that were taken from Planet Baab by an enemy. What the Baab public does not know is that Scorch depends entirely on the behind-the-scenes efforts of his brother, Gary Supernova (with the voice of Rob Corddry) for his success. Gary operates the space ship for Scorch and makes all the decisions via remote control from the BASA space center on the Planet Baab. Without Gary's help, Scorch would not be able to achieve any of the things he does.

At BASA, they get an SOS message from earth (which they call the "dark planet"). BASA wants to send Scorch to earth and Scorch agrees to go, but Gary disagrees strongly, because Gary thinks the mission is much too dangerous. Gary quits BASA in protest, but Scorch goes ahead with the mission anyway. Without Gary's help, Scorch is immediately captured by the military when he lands on earth. The military commander, General Shanker and his men take Scorch to "Area 51." Gary's son Kip sees the reports about Scorch on TV and sneaks out of the house to go on a mission to earth to save Scorch. Gary learns of this and rushes off to BASA to stop his son, which he does just in time. Then Gary decides to go on the mission to earth himself instead.

When Gary lands on earth he gets captured also and taken to Area 51 to be held with all the other aliens. Shanker is using all the aliens he captures to build new technologies for the industrial military complex on earth. Shanker has an ally on Planet Baab who is Lena ( with the voice of Jessica Alba). Lena has fallen for Shanker because Shanker wears an Elvis wig when he communicates with her. She thinks this is very attractive. Shanker gets Lena to give him blutonium which he secretly intends to use to make a planet-killing death-ray device. Shanker wants to kill all the alien planets because aliens killed his father when he was a child. Shanker tries to use the death-ray on Planet Baab which reveals his evil plan. Gary and Scorch team up with the other aliens, are able to escape Area 51, and then leave planet earth in Scorch's space ship.

Shanker gives chase. Gary, Scorch, and all the other aliens have to fight with Shanker in the final showdown to save their planets and themselves.
Best part of story, including ending: I liked that the aliens are the good guys and the earth military commander is the bad guy.

Best scene in story: A funny scene is when Gary is first on earth, goes to a 7-11, tries a Slurpee. When he drinks it too fast, he gets a brain freeze.

Opinion about the main character: Scorch is all puffed up about himself and his real abilities are far less than he thinks they are. Luckily his brother finds a way to overlook this and together they team up to save the day.
