Mallory Kane is a spy who works for a firm that handles operations that the government wants to stay distant from. Her boss and former boyfriend, Kenneth, sends them on a mission to rescue a Chinese man being held hostage and deliver him back to the government. Once they do so, Mallory is sent immediately on another solo assignment: pretend to be the wife of an MI6 agent at a social event while he finds and meets a contact. However, when she finds the Chinese man dead at the party, holding a piece of Mallory's jewelry, she realizes that she has been framed. After killing the MI6 agent, she answers his phone and hears a voice on the other end asking if she was dead: Kenneth. She escapes the authorities and makes her way out of the country, heading to America to meet with Kenneth. Meanwhile, the government agent who hires Kenneth sees the value in Mallory working for them in an official capacity, so he agrees to help her; he sends Kenneth to her father's house, so that Mallory knows exactly where he can be found. When Kenneth escapes after killing one of Mallory's friends, she relies on her government contact to help her once again to find Kenneth. When she encounters him, she traps him and forces him to reveal his scheme: Kenneth knew Mallory was going to leave his firm, so he decided to set her up to have her killed rather than let her walk away. Mallory must then decide how to dispatch of Kenneth, and how to go about killing the rest of the men involved in the conspiracy.

Best part of story, including ending:
It goes a little slowly for my personal taste, but the action is terrific, and Carano is an extremely credible female action lead.
Best scene in story:
The fight against the MI6 agent in the hotel room is extremely physical and very sexy; the fight choreography is exquisite and it's wonderfully shot.
Opinion about the main character:
Mallory is kind of a cypher, largely since Carano isn't a terrific actress. She's far more cool when she's fighting than she is attempting to emote.
