Actors: Rowan Atkinson, Gillian Anderson, Rosamund Pike

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Johnny English Reborn

Rowan Atkinson (also known as the character “Mister Bean”) plays the character of Johnny English who is an inept spy that is part of the British MI7 program. He makes tons of obvious mistakes but somehow stills gets credited with solving some of the most difficult cases.

Johnny goes up against the evil spy group called “Vortex” who want to assassinate the Chinese leader when he comes to visit the UK Prime Minister. Johnny learns that Vortex is hunting for three keys that unlock a super weapon. Johnny recovers one of the three keys only to promptly have it stolen on the flight back from Hong Kong to London. When Johnny presents the empty key case back at headquarters in London he is ridiculed.

Under hypnosis, Johnny recalls that Karlenko (played by Mark Ivanir) also works for Vortex as a secret Russian spy. Karlenko is attacked by the cleaning lady. Before he dies he tells Johnny that the third Vortex agent is a double spy hidden in MI7. Johnny at first suspects that Ambrose (played by Dominic West), is the double spy but later becomes convinced by Ambrose that Patch Quaetermain (played by Tim McInnerny) is the double spy. Things go topsy-turvy and Johnny is accused of being the traitor.

When Johnny meets Patch he learns the truth. He runs off in Patch's wheelchair going down the street at high speed. Johnny is falsely accused of being a double agent. The killer cleaning woman tries to take him out, but he escapes her.

English sneaks into the castle in Switzerland with the help of Tucker (played by Daniel Kaluuya) where the summit meeting is being held, to foil the attempt to kill the Chinese leader. English gets drugged by Ambrose which forces him to try to kill the Chinese leader. English has a fight with Ambrose on the alps. They have the final showdown on a ski lift car to see who will win.
Best part of story, including ending: I like that Johnny does everything wrong but somehow still gets it right in the end.

Best scene in story: When Johnny mistakes the Queen of England for the mysterious cleaning woman and attacks the queen, it is very funny.

Opinion about the main character: Johnny is an idiot, but in spite of this he becomes the hero. This gives us all hope.
