Freya is scared of getting fired because she financially supports her sister, Anna, who is attending college. Freya has taken care of Anna ever since their parents died in a car accident several years ago. In a last ditch effort to become creative and feel sexy again, Freya wants to find a passionate man who might inspire her. She decides to place a personal ad in Craigslist.

When Anna finds out about the personal ad, she tells Freya to date Greg Cavanaugh - the attractive neighbor who lives upstairs in Freya's building. Freya briefly spent time with Greg, but stopped contacting him when she found out he is a divorce attorney. She assumes he is a terrible person who enjoys breaking up families.

Freya believes all attorneys are sleazy and untrustworthy after her dad hired an incompetent lawyer when he was sued for medical malpractice by one of his patients. The attorney kept stating that a positive outcome would be reached in the case, but her dad ended up losing his medical license and assets. Freya's dad was so upset after leaving the courthouse that he got into a car accident that killed him and his wife. Freya blamed the attorney for the death of her parents.

Anna notices the sexual tension between Greg and Freya. Anna goes to Greg's condo without Freya's knowledge to figure out if he would be a suitable mate for her sister. Greg doesn't hide his interest in Freya. He wants to pursue a long-term relationship with her. Anna thinks Greg would be a good match for Freya and enlists his help to thwart Freya's dates with other men.

Anna is an art major in college, but she really wants to go to law school. She applied to law schools, but hasn't told Freya because she's scared Freya will get upset. Anna thinks that if Freya falls for Greg, she will be more accepting of Anna's desire to become a lawyer.

During one of Anna's visits to Freya's building, she meets a chef named Max. Anna is attracted to Max and wants to get to know him better. Max makes Anna dinner at his place. Before Anna leaves, she surprises Max by kissing him. Anna's feelings for Max are reciprocated and they eventually become couple.

Greg keeps asking Freya out and she finally relents. She tells Greg that she needs someone to spark the passion inside of her so that she can become creative again. Freya enjoys going out with Greg and can't deny her physical attraction to him. She starts coming up with great ideas for the Sin City project. Greg has deep feelings for Freya, but she tells him their relationship will only last until she completes her assignment.

As Freya and Greg get closer, she starts seeing another man named Connor. Freya thinks Connor is a nice guy, but her feelings for Greg are a lot stronger. Anna tries to sabotage Freya's dates with Connor by telling him that Freya wants to have kids immediately and advises him to take Freya to restaurants she hates. Greg has also lied to various suitors and said things that made them lose interest in Freya.

Freya gets upset when she finds out Anna and Greg intentionally tried to ruin her dates, but she forgives them after they both apologize to her. She encourages Anna to attend law school and tells Greg that she loves him. Freya was also able to save her job when the owners of Sin City said they were very pleased with her web design ideas.

A year later, Freya won an award for the Sin City website she created. Greg and Freya are happily married. Freya is six months pregnant and they bought a new house to accommodate their growing family.
Best part of story, including ending: Greg embodies all of the characteristics that define memorable love interests in romance novels. He is a strong successful man who is confident enough to go after Freya in spite of her attempts to dissuade him. Freya enters the relationship with the intention of it being a temporary affair, but she inevitably falls in love with Greg and everything he adds to her life.

Best scene in story: It was funny and cute when Anna caught Max off-guard by taking the initiative to kiss him. Anna experienced a significant loss after her parents died, but she doesn't let pain or fear keep her from pursuing what she wants.

Opinion about the main character: Freya's assumption that all lawyers are terrible people solely based on what happened with her father's medical malpractice attorney seemed a bit far-fetched. Even though people who have undergone a traumatic experience are susceptible to making illogical conclusions about who is responsible or what caused the event, Freya's initial reaction to Greg is something I would expect from a child, not an emotionally developed adult.
