Elise Ashton lived by two rules - 1. All men are boring and 2. Trust no one but her cousin Georgia. Why couldn't she find someone like the captivating space pirate with midnight hair and obsidian eyes who haunted her dreams, always leaving right before she climaxed? Elise knew she was doomed to live a life of loneliness until the alien OrTans captured her for Lord Gith, their prince. Drugged, naked and left to watch aliens having sex in the room next to her, Elise didn't know what was going on, but she knew she wanted out. Unknowingly, she called for Ki Tul'Mar, her dreamy space pirate who was all too real. When Ki, Sailmaster of the Andromeda, heard Elise, he knew that his shanna (beloved) was real. He had thought the beautiful blonde with the sparkling sapphire eyes was as legendary as the Lorelei she reminded him of. Maddened with the need to get near to Elise and rescue her, he immediately attacked Gith's ship and swept her to safety.

Elise wasn't sure that she was any safer with Ki than she was with Gith, but given the choice, she would choose Ki anytime - until Ki started acting strangely. The priest Akad calmly explained that he was in the throes of the Ardani mating fever, which hit all Ardani males when they find their mate before the binding ceremony and first joining, but that didn't make Elise feel any better. Terrified that Ki would rape her, Elise tried to protest that she wasn't Ki's mate, but the drug they gave her to deaden the pain while they removed her slave collar made everything all fuzzy. Before she knew it, she was lying naked in bed with the very aroused Ki. Ki was very careful to ensure that everything that happened was Elise's own desire for an Ardani would never do anything she did not desire and will do everything she wanted. Elise was in heaven for the seven day first joining period where everyone left them alone and she had long, lazy days full of pleasuring with Ki.
On the seventh day, however, she discovered that Ki's younger brother Fari was in the room while they made love. Humiliated that Ki would value her so little, she demanded to know why Ki let Fari enter without letting her get dressed first. Elise was stunned when Ki responded by explaining that it was very common for siblings and close family members to share in the pleasures of their relative's mates and that once Fari, his brother, and Krysta, his sister, had all bonded that they and their mates would all share pleasure together. Furious that she would mean so little to Ki that he would share her with everyone, she threw Ki and Fari out of the room. But Ki would not be denied and quickly sent in the priest Akad to start training Elise in the ways of Arda and what it meant to be the Sailmaster's woman...
