When she returns to her family, they all wish to disown her, apart from her two children from years ago who are at the mercy of overbearing parents and Patrick Connor, London's most feared Afro-British gang leader who is involved in drugs and prostitution. With the help of her children and those at her new place of work, she seeks to uncover the truth about what really happened eleven years ago - and take revenge in the process. But there are also rival families of those Marie is accused of murdering who wish to see her dead, and so a gang war erupts. A gripping novel which will grab your attention and the twist at the end is one of the most well-crafted ever. British author Martina Cole, I can safely say, is a talent that nobody can match!
