Naked In His Arms Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Naked In His Arms

Alexander Knight is a former Special Forces agent who is called upon for a special mission by his former agency. Although Knight is reluctant to get embroiled again in government operations, he takes the job provided that he can orchestrate the operation in his own, singular manner. Knight's task is to provide protection for a witness in a government case against Tony Gennaro, a legendary mobster. The witness, Cara Prescott, is a gorgeous woman who was living in Gennaro's mansion and presumably his mistress. Although Ms. Prescott has refused to provide testimony against her former lover and is now holed up in a small New York apartment, the agency hopes to keep her alive long enough to change her mind about testifying. The agency has it on good authority that Ms. Prescott's life may be in danger due to Gennaro and his goons. Knight immediately puts Cara under surveillance and discovers that she works in a small bookstore and spends a lot of time in her apartment. When Cara goes to work one day Knight breaks into her apartment and starts snooping around. In the midst of stumbling upon numerous surveillance devices in Cara's apartment, Cara returns home. When Knight hides in the closet, Cara begins to take a shower, unaware that she is not alone in her apartment. Suddenly, Knight realizes that he must make a move to spirit Cara away without delay, due to the fact that whoever is watching Cara might have seen him break into her apartment. Knight surprises Cara in the shower and takes her by force to a secluded airplane hangar in New York. Cara can't believe that she has been kidnapped from her home by a madman who is planning to fly her to a undisclosed location against her will. Knight's plan is to take Cara to his private island where he can watch over her and keep her safe until the court case begins. As Knight and Cara are placed in close proximity day after day, a sizzling passion rises to the surface. Although Knight hates the fact that Cara was a mobster's lover, he finds himself drawn towards her spirited personality and beauty. Although Cara finds herself drawn towards Knight, who has vowed to protect her at all costs, she still can't help but wonder if Knight is one of the good guys or an enemy bent on her destruction.

Ex-CIA operative Alexander Knight finds himself back in his former bosses' office in Washington, DC. Director Shaw is trying to get Alexander to take one last mission for the sake of justice. Cara Prescott is a crucial witness in a case against the Gennaro crime family. In fact, she was crime boss Anthony Gennarro's mistress. Now, the government needs Alex to keep her alive long enough to testify in court. However, Miss Prescott is a reluctant witness, and so far has refused protection.,
Alexander grudgingly accepts the assignment. He arrives in New York City to observe Cara and decide how to proceed. He finds the young, stunningly beautiful Cara living under an assumed name, halfheartedly disguising herself and working as a clerk in a bookstore. Alexander reconnoiters Cara's apartment while she's gone, and discovers the place already bugged. Cara arrives home unexpectedly, and moments later an attempt on her life is made! Alex has no choice but to take Cara forcibly to the one place he can protect her from the far-reaching fingers of the mob-his own private island in Florida.
On Palm Island, Cara finds herself defenseless, roughly taken away in the night without even a change of clothes! No one lives on the island except Alex and an employee. Worse, she has already given in to the sexual attraction between herself and Alex the first night of their arrival. Their days and nights on the island are filled with sexual passion, but Alex is tormented by the thought he may be falling for a young woman who had made love to a Mafia don. Cara insists that though she lived in Gennaro's house, she was never his mistress, and claims not to know any information that would incriminate Gennaro. . . But then, why would the Mob want her silenced if she was innocent? Cara refuses to explain herself any further. Alex is supremely confident he can protect Cara from the Mafia, but what about the damage from the dark secret Cara is hiding?
