She moves into Farthinggale Manor to live amongst riches and servants, but she still feels lonely. Leigh runs away because Tony Tattorton raped her and her mother refused to believe her, and meets Luke Casteel on her way to Atlanta. She goes to West Virginia with him, where they live in his drafty, cold shack in the Willies mountain range. She gives birth there, and names the baby Heaven, just before she dies.....
