I'd like to see that Russian movie. What would that be? A Borscht Western? A Samovar Western? Interesting thought.
I love them too - I think Pale Rider was my favourite. And the bad dubbing of the early ones was classic. But at least the cowboys looked suitably grimy and sweaty, like they might really have lived in the Nineteenth Century.

I've always been fascinated by spaghetti westerns, and heard about one that Franco Nero made/ produced in within the last 10 years, in Russia. He said they literally built a whole town for him, not just the facade, like in the old western sets.
