I don't think you guys fully realize the wieght of the ring. It completely destroyed Smeagal! Frodo was able to resist it for a very Long time. And of course he's not himself by The Return of the King! His Self was robbed by the ring. That's why he has to go the the Grey Havens. He just can't go back to the way things were. that's why it's so very sad.

I suppose.But you cant deny they made him look like a wimp in the films (a bit). He has courage, he just doesnt use it all the time.

No Frodo was differently not a wimp his was the one caring for that ring and baring it around his neck. And he had to travel miles just to throw it into a volcano. I wimp would take a journey that involed dangerous things.

I don't think Frodo was necessarily a "wimp" because I mean, look at everything he had to go through! But, I do think they made him act strange. He never seemed like himself in the third movie.

I thought Frodo was a wimp all the way through, apart from when he voulenteered in FOTR.

I believe the movie they tried to make while Tolkien was still alive was also going to have flying things to get move people around faster so it could be shorter. And he said something or other about fantasy not making good movies or plays etc.
