Susan Kay Message Board

Tammy B. posts on 5/25/2005 1:22:06 AM The message board doesn't seem to let me post the URL for the petition. It can be found by a google search of Phantom, Kay, petition. Please view and sign. They are asking for a paper back reprint costing 6.99
Tammy posts on 5/23/2005 2:18:33 PM Thanks for the update on the petition. I'll sure try to find it. Also, yes, the book by Gaston Leroux was originally in French (I was lucky enough to get to read it in French class many moons ago). Glad you are enjoying the book!
marissa svoboda posts on 5/23/2005 1:42:51 PM hey, kathy, if youre still here...who is this author? i mean, ive nevr heard of her

Kathy B. posts on 5/23/2005 1:39:13 PM I was fortunate enough to get this book from a co-worker who had bought the book several years ago at a yard sale for $2.00! I'd just started reading it - I'm only about 3 chapters into the story - but already I'm enchanted! I purchased the movie DVD in a set with the original book by Gaston Leroux which I'd just read last week. I believe Leroux's book was originally written in French and then translated to English. (Is this correct)? In any case, I'm finding Ms. Kay's book to be a much more enjoyable read!
Kathy posts on 5/15/2005 7:04:07 PM For Tammy B. There is a petition somewhere under Susan Kay on the internet to have it republished. That is all I know about it so far.
Tammy B. posts on 5/15/2005 6:20:16 PM Anyone know of any plans for another run of the book? I've got my nieces hooked and can not get my hands on the book! Please post! The book is TOO good not to survive! :D Thanks!
LA in Ottawa posts on 5/8/2005 11:09:55 AM Our Book Club has just finished reading and discussing this wonderful book. You can get it at the library. I was fascinated by the final scene where Christine "decides" to go with the Phantom and in the book it is much sweeter and tortured and understandable. For those Phantom lovers, you must read it!!
Kathy posts on 4/20/2005 9:17:13 PM I don't know when I have read a book like this in a long time! It has to be the best thing I have ever read! They need to rerelease this to the masses and require it for reading in school for lit. class. It resolves a lot of questions I had about the movie which I have seen several times. I think Gerard Butler did a great job and Mr. Shumacher directed an exquisite movie.
Selene posts on 4/4/2005 9:29:53 PM I was just wondering what old minstrel song it was that tells the tale of the White Rose and the Nightingale. If you could tell me that would be great. Thanks
Kelsey posts on 2/12/2005 5:45:14 PM The book is amazing. I know that it is hard to find, but if you can find it, get it. I cried my eyes out while reading it. A MUST for a Phantom phanatic.
