kit wilson posts on 1/11/2005 7:08:18 PM Don't be fooled by the naysayers! The new movie is lush, vibrant and breath-taking. Combine the visual feast with the state-of-the-art sound system in the movie house, and you have an experience to remember. Wonder why so many people are going to see it multiply times? The audience even CLAPS after the ending and title credits roll. When is the last time you saw that?
Carol Carney posts on 1/9/2005 6:46:50 PM I saw Michael Crawford in the stage production of "Phantom" a few years ago in Los Angeles. It was an expensive and interesting evening. I never thought much of it. I just recently saw the 2004 film and was just enchanted by it. The film gives so much more of the actual "story" of the Phantom and his unrequited love for the beautiful Christine. The critics are completely "out to lunch" on this terrific film! Gerard Butler is a perfect Phantom-he's a baritone and projects so much sexuality! I read many great reviews of Susan Kay's "Phantom" which I discovered is out of print. I've ordered a used copy on a website for $85. I know it will be a great read. The film is a million times better than the play! Go see it! I'm sure Kay's book will explain even more about the Phantom!
