Abbott and Costello Go to Mars Movie Review Summary

Actors: Bud Abbott, Lou Costello

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Abbott and Costello Go to Mars

One unusual thing about this A&B outing is that they boys start out as strangers. They quickly become friends however as they accidentally blast off for Mars, only to land in New Orleans during Mardi Gras (although they think they made it to Mars.) The revelers are wearing truly bizarre outfits and while A&B visit, two gangers rob a bank dressed at astronauts.

Before you know, all four are really off on their way to...Venus! That's right, despite the title, they characters never really land on Mars. But what a Venus! Men have been banished and the planet is ruled by former Miss America contestant parading around in skimpy outfits. Well, skimpy for the times.

Lou accidentally becomes King of Venus before being foiled by his lust (which is made apparent when he bursts three truth-telling balloons). They boys make their way back to Earth as heroes (even the gangsters are allowed in the parade) but the Queen of Venus gets one last shot at revenge.
