Nick and Nora Charles have a baby! This only adds to the mayhem in the third installment in the Thin Man movie series. Nick Charles (Powell) is still attempting to enjoy his retirement and his wife's money, but soon he's being asked to come out of retirement as a favor. Colonel MacFay (Smith), a munitions manufacturer, is convinced his former business associate, Phil Church (Leonard), is after him. Murder can't be far behind. Much of the film deals with Nick's attempts to embrace fatherhood, which includes cutting back on the drinking and attempting to find a babysitter.
