Bruce Willis, not generally known for playing comedy roles, is brilliant as the "day late and a dollar short" Walter Davis. Walter needs a date for a very important business dinner and turns to his brother (the late Phil Hartman) for help, who sets him up on a blind date with his wife's cousin, Nadia Gates (Basinger). Walter is warned not to let Nadia drink alcohol because she gets "crazy." The date starts out great, until Walter and Nadia encounter Nadia's ex-boyfriend, David (Larroquette) who is completely obsessed with Nadia. The night progresses as one disaster after another enfolds centering around Nadia's consumption of alcohol and the stalking of Walter and Nadia by the goofy David. Plentiful sight gags, wisecracks, and Blake Edwards regulars make this a very enjoyable movie, especially for anyone who has endured the dreaded blind date! A real treat for Blake Edwards fans!
