Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Only the Lonely

Danny is a thirty-something cop who lives with his domineering mother, Rose. He dotes on her, worries about her, and bears her crotchety nagging with much patience. His lovelife is nonexistent, and it seems that he'll be a bachelor for the rest of his life.

Everything changes when Danny falls in love with Theresa, the diffident daughter of the man who owns the local funeral parlor. They develop a sweet, tender relationship, while Rose looks on in disapproval, making tactless remarks about Theresa's Italian heritage and small breasts. If Danny doesn't stand up to his mother and rearrange his commitments in life, he will be in danger of losing Theresa forever.
