Seeing other people stars Jay Mohr (Last Comic Standing, Suicide Kings) as Ed, a writer in L.A. who is happy with his relationship with fiance Alice (Julianne Nicholson). Two months before their wedding Alice decides that she wants to see other people before they get married. Ed isn't hot on the idea but eventually gives into Alices demands. Alice quickly hooks up with a contractor while Ed isn't having any luck. Eventually, Ed hooks up with an actress but he can't perform because he isn't used to being single anymore. Meanwhile, Alice is getting more than she bargained for with the contractor. It feels more like a relationship than a casual sex thing for Alice, and this causes friction between her and Ed, putting their five year relationshop on rocky ground. The whole idea of some casual flings becomes a complete mess for both of them as Alice sleeps with her sisters husband and Ed hooks up with a crackhead. In the end, they find each other again.
