Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Hotel For Dogs

A brother and sister run an abandoned hotel for stray dogs. Andi and Bruce are foster kids who want to keep a stray dog in their home but their self-involved foster parents won't allow them. One day, they stumble upon an empty hotel in the city, where two dogs have already taken residence. Bruce decides to keep their dog Friday at the hotel. The siblings are unhappy with their current parents, and their social worker Bernie is working to find them new ones. He warns them however of curbing their taste for getting into trouble, since this might mean that they'll get separated. The siblings befriend two employees at the local pet shop, Dave and Heather, who soon pass over unwanted dogs to Andi and Bruce for better care at the hotel. Soon the kids round up the strays in the neighborhood and board them at the place. Bruce creates a fully-operational dog care facility, complete with inventions and gadgets that keep the dogs occupied such as doggie toilets, mechanized ball throwers, a shoe vending machine, an automatic dog feeder and such. Not long, the town dog catcher and their parents become suspicious. Bernie finds out about the hotel, inside, he is astonished and impressed with Bruce's ingenuity. When their hotel is discovered by the others, the kids are sent to separate foster homes. The dogs are taken to the pound. Friday runs away to Dave and they hatch a plan to breakout the dogs from the shelter. When the dogs are free, they instinctively run back to the hotel, and a crowd gathers. Bernie steps up and makes a speech honoring what the kids have done. The people are inspired and give donations to keep the hotel open and to fix it up. In the end, a new hotel is opened, welcoming strays and boarders, and the kids are retained as the employees. Bernie decides to take the siblings in and adopt them.

Best part of story, including ending: Dog movies are always so much fun, and I like the parallel story of orphaned siblings caring for orphaned dogs.

Best scene in story: When we see the different inventions that Bruce has made, I like the simulated dog car ride.

Opinion about the main character: Andi and her brother are kind-hearted and sympathize with the abandoned animals, which make them perfect caregivers.
