Dear John by Nicholas Sparks Summary Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Dear John

Themes

Women don't respect guys who don't try to bang them. Savannah said she respected John for not trying to bone her but obviously the truth was the exact opposite. Women lose respect for guys who don't try to make a move on them. It makes them think the guy is inexperienced in sex. Most women want to be seduced, and if the man doesn't try, it makes them feel the man is less experienced and less attractive.

Women will dump boyfriends if they don't like the sex. After their one and only sex encounter Savannah was crying. She wouldn't tell John why, but obviously his p_nis was too small to give her pleasure. That was probably the true end to their relationship right there. The moral of this story is, if you haven't got the right tools, you can't get the job done.

If you want a girl to marry you, don't leave for several years. John expected Savannah to wait around several years for him while he was busy killing muslims. But women have needs, specifically sex drives, and if one man isn't available to fulfill them, then guess what, someone else will. Do you want to know why Tim was able to bone Savannah? Because he was there.
