Plot Summary Part 3

Stavros says that Aspasia's bed is "too crowded" for him to come to, heh heh.

Some time later, Stavros had revenge sex with Aspasia, but it really disgusted him. Stavros finds another woman named Despina to bone. He decides to divorce Aspasia so he can concentrate on boning Despina full time. Shockingly, Stavros does not die. He simply walks out of Aspasia's life.

Aspasia, stunned to be dumped by Stavros, remembers her mother's words--when her life gets really f'ed up, she should come back to goatsville, the house by the river.

Polyxeni, the fourth daughter, ran away to join the circus, or was it a traveling group of actors? I think it was the actors. She acts with them for a while but then leaves with a lady named Martha and gets her own agent who gets her more and more prominent acting roles in plays and them movies. Before long Polyxeni is a big time movie star.

Polyxeni let a rich guy named Leonidas bone her. Leonidas was infatuated with her, but even when he boned her, Polyxeni didn't feel anything. Could it be that she is a lesbo? She continues to let Leonidas bone her, as if she is acting a part in a play, but she feels nothing for him. My favorite lines:

Leonidas’s lovemaking left her completely indifferent. Not a cell of her body responded. Perhaps for one or two moments she felt pleasant, then nothing more.

Yep, definitely lesbo.

Leonidas was so in love with Polyxeni that he bought her a house. Poly played along, even as she felt nothing.

She let Leonidas lead her straight to bed, where she became totally unaware of what her body was doing. Like a piece of wood, like a dead thing, she abandoned herself to his hands.

She acted like a piece of wood, heh heh. Actually, so did he, heh heh heh.

Polyxeni knows Leonidas is very sensitive and tried to kill himself the last time his girlfriend broke up with him. But Polyxeni doesn't care and she breaks up with him. Leonidas shoots himself in the head, which is no surprise since we already know that most men die in this book.  At least he had good aim, heh heh. Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

Anyway, Polyxeni doesn't feel guilty even though she was warned this would happen.

But she doesn't want her acting career to be harmed so when she is told he is dead she cries and faints for the press so it will look like she cared. What a cold bitch!

Then Polyxeni spread her legs for a guy named Giovanni and this time she did feel something! He poured champagne on her naked body and licked it off.

the Italian indicated that he wanted her to take off his clothes. Polyxeni obeyed. She hurried... She had experienced sexual pleasure for the first time.

Then Polyxeni got boned by a guy named Petros who turned her on. She likes how he takes command.

So, my love, either get undressed and we’ll have a good time, or leave.

She watched Petros taking a sip from his drink and loosening his tie at the same time. She fixed her eyes on him. Her hands began automatically unbuttoning her coat, which she let fall to the floor. Still watching him, she continued with the rest of her clothes until she was naked under his gaze, which had already darkened with desire.

Every touch from Petros shot her into the sky, his every kiss made her sob. Her nails dug into his back. She scratched him all over. She heard him shout her name and at that final moment Polyxeni’s cry brought his release.

His release, heh heh heh.

But unfortunately, Petros quickly got bored of Polyxeni, just as she got bored of Leonidas. After boning her for a year, he had a night of spectacular sex and announced he was getting married--to someone else. Poly was way too low class for him to marry.

Polyxeni was devastated. She stopped acting, became a retard, and vomited on herself. To make matters worse, her friend Martha and her husband Stathis died in a car crash, leaving a daughter with an awkward Greek name. Poly adopted her. Then Poly remembered her mother's words, about her f'ing up her own life, how she could come crawling back on her hands and knees to goatsville, the village with the house by the river.

Magdalini, the last daughter, left with her aunt Anna and Uncle Peter to go to America. Mag didn't know it, but Uncle Peter was a smuggler. He had some trouble with a mobster named Charley who he thought might kill him. Peter's solution? Get Mag to spread her legs for Charley's son, Franco. Petros figured that if Franco were in love with Mag, that Charley wouldn't kill him for competing with his mafia business.
