Forgive me for posting this again, but the format on that was JUNK. Here is a Version seperating the lines / is line = is verse:
The past of man was cold as ice/
He would not mend his ways /
He strove for silver in his heart /
And gold in all his days/
His reason weak his anger sharp/
And sorrow all his pay/
He went to church but once a year/
And that was Christmas Day/
=The present man is full of flame /
He rushes here and there /
He turns away the orphan child /
The widow in her chair/
He takes the lad he rarely meets once treated with dismay /
And stands alone without his coins in church on Christmas Day/

Rejoice for Mary's son/
Pray peace on earth to all mankind/
God bless us everyone/~~

I pieced the lyrics together. Its 99% right except for one line in the second verse:

Please tell me there is finally a CD soundtrack available for the 1984 George C Scott "A Christmas Carol"??!! And where can I get it?? Thankyou

I am so pleased to find that this wonderful film has a web-site. I watch it several times over every Christmas Eve and I think it is fantastic that others feel the same.

One "innacuracy" in the actual lyrics that....was sung in the closing and credits. It isn't "jingling of his change", it's "jingling of his coins". I hear it distinctly but I've got the lyrics, since discovered on this site by PJ last Christmas (and that good interpretation by Ken LaRue) still and now when I hear it on a cassette (I recorded it onto a cassette tape) I can sing along with it....it's a lovely Christmas Song.

I still have the actual lyrics to the song that Nick Bicat sent to me. But, I still haven't heard back from him regarding the CD. I have emailed him twice. I guess he's really busy.
