Ed posts on 12/1/2011 6:08:40 PM As I was waiting for book 6, I wrote my own story for it. Now after reading book 6, I am sorry to say, I like my own better.
Missy posts on 11/30/2011 10:49:49 PM I was to read Clan of the Cave Bear for a report, would anybody like to help me with this???
Emmabee posts on 11/23/2011 8:41:27 AM @Gale: That is something I did not know and may explain the reason for how different the last book is/was in style and substance. I hope they have worked out their differences. It may or may not be accurate, but certainly makes sense.

Melanie posts on 11/23/2011 5:48:49 AM I really like reading the earth children books 1-5, but when I read number 6 it was not as good but enjoyable, I feel that as this is the last book it has still left so many things unfinished and these need to be closed. As I felt no!ending in this story
Jessica posts on 11/16/2011 2:01:41 PM Where can I find the fanfic written by Anita Moran? I've heard she wrote a great ending to the Earth Children Series.
smatley posts on 11/15/2011 8:37:12 PM I have re-read the first 5 books at least 10 times each I enjoyed the so much. Book 6 was so dissapointing that I have put all the series into a box and sent them off to a second hand book store. Wish I had never read it.
Gale Vargo posts on 11/1/2011 8:41:31 AM I have read the series several time - loved them. They were always dedicated to husband Ray and children. I often felt that they were a fantasy of her life with Ray as if they were Jondalar and Ayla. Prior to the release of the sixth book rumor was of a divorce and a statement by Ms Auel that sometimes "Life gets in the way". I am wondering if the sixth book and the relationship between Jondalar/Ayla/Marona are part of that "life" occurance. Perhaps Ray had a double life also and the realization of that crushed Ms Auel's spirit. She fulfilled a commitment but lost heart which can happen when living a fantasy that has been shattered. I too, was disappointed in the last book. I would like to hear her feelings on the reviews/comments by the readers.
Paula Patrick posts on 11/1/2011 1:38:06 AM After waiting years for Book 6, I am very disappointed. So much was left unsettled in the story and left me wanting. It was kinda like only being allowed to eat one Lays Potato Chip or getting right in the middle of a "can't take my eyes off the movie" and the power goes out. Your faithful fans deserved more than was given.
Carolyn posts on 10/26/2011 8:34:59 PM My friend wants and loves this "caveman' series (I know nothing about it). Could you tell me what would be the most recent as I think he has read others (maybe 5)
Tim Cloonan posts on 10/11/2011 12:20:31 PM Neanderthals and modern humans co-existed for 225 K years. Neanderthals as a distinct species became extinct. I could envision random interbreeding and personally thought that the offspring being hybrids were incapable of succesful reproducing(mule-like results). However, recently learned that Neanderthal genetic traces exist, in part, in 6 - 7% of our current world population.
