I saw you on a talk show and was captivated by your story. I had to read your book. Even though I know you and your siblings experienced this type of child raising it is still unbelievable. I could hardly put the book down because it was one thing after the other happening. I am not saying your parents'child rearing was wrong. I think it is like the opposite of being over protective. It is being over lenient to the point of neglect. It is amazing to me all of you survived. Kids are always complaining their parents don't trust them well yours had too much trust. It is kind of like that saying, "I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish he didn't trust me so much."(Mother Teresa) Your father was a self-taught man that was highly intelligent. Your mother is eccentric, intelligent and lives her life the way she always has by doing what she wants too. It goes to show you that you can not choose a book by it's cover. It is amazing in it self how your parents found each other and basically had the same views on rearing children. The part where you were trying to make your own braces for your teeth was ingenious. It goes to show you when a child is their own deviser what they can accomplish. The book could be humorous and grievous at the same time. Thank you for sharing your unique experiences with us. You turned out to be a very beautiful woman from your picture and obviously inherited your intelligence from your parents. Your parents must have done something right even though it seems like they did alot wrong.You loved them and they certainly loved all of you in their own way. God Bless
