Mildred D. Taylor Message Board

Caroline posts on 3/11/2007 9:57:27 AM I think that Mrs. Taylor should write a sequel to Road to Memphis. I love her books about the Logan family and I hope tha she never stops writing them.
Heidi Ricks posts on 1/4/2007 2:21:13 PM Dear Ms. Taylor, I am hosting our homeschoolers book club this month for which we just finished reading Roll of Thinder Hear my Cry. My intention in chosing this book now was to tie it into Martin Luther King Day. My question is: How much did the work of MLK and his devotion to the Gandhian principles of nonviolence and civil disobedience play a role in your development of characters and plot in this book? Was it a conscious decision to portray Mama Logan's character as a teacher as MLK's mother was? Do you believe in the power of love over evil? Could you suggest an activity to go along with our discussion of this book and the topics of nonviolence and the Civil Rights Movement in general?
Dionysius Williams posts on 12/20/2006 2:15:28 PM I really love you're books. I'm looking forward to their being a sequel to The Road To Memphis because I really want to know what happens to Moe, Cassie, Sissy, and even Solomon Bradley.

posts on 9/3/2006 8:20:40 AM I really like Mildred.D.Taylor's books. I think that she writes in a really clever way and makes the surprises really big and does'nt give anything away until the big build up. I also want to be an author and think that she is a very good childrens idol for writting. I can't wait to read more of her brilliant stories and get more insperation.
posts on 9/2/2006 12:01:05 PM We have just read Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry and started looking at the other books written by Mildred D. Taylor on the Logan Family Story. Can anyone tell us the order of all the books in the series which starts with The Land and finishes (when writing is completed) with Logan. Thank you. We found her book amazing!
