posts on 6/23/2006 11:31:10 PM Hello Mrs. Taylor, I am very pleased with your writings about the Logan family. They are filled with such pride. I agree that a sequel to Road To Mephis would be great. However, I just finished The Land about Paul-Edward and I would love to know about the times between that and Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. David and Hammer Logan are two of the strongest characters of the series. I think many readers would enjoy them, along with their brothers and parents story, about growing up in the south. Is there any other works in progress? It would be very exciting if so, and when?

posts on 6/21/2006 1:40:41 AM Miss.Taylor I think you are a realy great author. I started reading your books awile ago when i picked up Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry of a some shelf. When i first started reading it I nearly gave up cause the print was so small and the book was so long but then I realy started gettin into the book and didnt wana stop readin it for nothin.Anyways all I can say now is that i read so much of your books that im startin to talk like the people in your book. course being from south Alabama dont help much neither. Well i just cant wait till your next book called Logan comes out. Megan K.
posts on 6/13/2006 5:38:52 AM Dear Ms. Taylor; i really enjoyed your books, and and after reading them all countless times have come ot the conclusion that The Road to Memphis needs a sequel. it says in the back of The Land that a book called, "Logan" was scheduled for 2004. it's 2006. where is it? sincerely, lizzi lupher
posts on 6/6/2006 3:58:56 PM Dear Ms. Taylor, I first fell in love with you reading ROLL OF THUNDER, HEAR MY CRY to my 5th grade students. I developed a way to put voices to your characters and I particularly liked, or my students enjoyed my "TJ" voice. The following year I bought 30 copies and we all read together. Since then it has been a part of my reading curriculum. We have also read, MISSISSIPPI BRIDGE and SONG OF THE TREES. I have yet to read LET THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN with my students, perhaps next school year.I especially like them because you make the Logan's so real, my students visualize each person and situation. We have good discussions after reading. Your books are so important for newer readers as they are clueless as to what it was like in the early '30's and '40's and '50's, even the '60's in the southern United States. I discovered it when I first went to college in Florida, leaving Rochester, NY in 1967. As students at St. Leo College we explored Dade City, a 6 mile hitchhike away in search of FANS...wow was it HOT! I was shocked to see signs "COLORED" on the side of the theater and drinking fountain outside a community health center. The images of the South are still vivid today. When we use our Social Studies text students read and see images of those times, in disbelief. Please respond via e-mail as I woul dlike to discuss the possibilities of a school visit. Thank you for sharing your story. Richard
