Isobelle Carmody Message Board

Tess posts on 1/7/2007 7:28:33 AM The Sydney Morning Herald (spectrum 06/01) has "Isobelle Carmody continues The Obernewtyn Chronicles (Penguin, September 2007)". Sounds to me like she's writing the two books, and anything in print is better than nothing at all, even it is merely the sliver of a sentence. Even so, i nearly squealed with delight when i read it! hehe maybe soon....maybe soon...
deb posts on 12/12/2006 5:41:51 PM If what Endora says is true than Darkbane won't be out until 2009. the Sending is the last of the Obernewtyn Cronicles which we would probably all recommend you read is you can stand the wait for for final book...it's been four years now and is supposed to be finished and out in March 2007. If the sending comes out then Darkbane is supposed to follow in 2008, but really, who knows with IC. cheers
Demi_Angel posts on 12/12/2006 7:42:46 AM does anyone know what month in 2007 dark bane will be coming out or even around what month cause i dont think i can wait much longer. ummm what is the obernewtyn series about cause i have no clue. you people who have met isobelle carmody are so lucky

endora posts on 12/8/2006 9:29:00 AM I have heard that there will be two books. Apparently she has been working on it for years trying desperately to make it tight enough to fit into one book, then in one of the rewrites a week or so ago, she suddenly realised that there is a complete book ready to go if she simply shifts one event slightly and even that would happen eventually. Having it come out as two books will then give her the room she needs to finish the final one. Apparently she has been stressing on what to leave out and if this is what will happen, she wont have to leave anything out. The good news is that while she is editing one, to come out next year, the final half will be finished at the same time as the next one comes out. The publishers will bring that out a year later. maybe less. How do I know all this. Well by this incredible coincidenc, I am in prague and sittingin a cafe and in she walks with a friend and they sit at the table next to me and start talking. And I hear all of this nearly swallowing my spoon. so I fnally pluck up the courage to speak to her and she was so nice and I said I swore not to tell anything I had overheard and she said she did not mind me telling people, but that the final decision is yet to be made The publishers might prefer her to wait another six months and try to fit it all in one book. She said all she cared about was that the books were good, and I asked if it would be like Tad Williams green angel tower one and two, and she said no that was confusing. She said she could not do this unless she really felt there was a complete book here. She seemed really happy and she said the best thing was that all those people who had been waiting would get one book next year and then the final one the year after. It was the most amazing thing. I can still hardly believe it happened. maybre I dreamed it...
Ozebruss posts on 11/28/2006 10:48:53 PM I pray that you're right Deb - the wait has been killing me. Good things come to those that wait apparently so atleast she's not going to rush in an ending just to finish it. I'd rather wait for another awesome book than a quick wrap up.
deb posts on 11/23/2006 6:55:31 PM I was lucky enough to go to Apollo Bay where IC lives when she is home, and managed to buy five of her books autographed. the bookshop lady says that back in June IC was in and told her that the March 07 date fot the Sending was still on. hope so anyhow. I've been reading these books for 19 years now and really want to know how it ends. cheers
eleanor posts on 11/16/2006 6:03:58 PM oh my gosh, im so glad darkbanes coming out i've been waiting five years for this book, she really knows how to keep her readers hanging! well nice to meet you all, btw i'm 14/female
Nors posts on 11/9/2006 12:02:48 AM What if it turns out that Rushton is the Destroyer?
Michael posts on 11/1/2006 10:30:37 PM I may be able to send some light about this.Recently I wrote to Isobelle Carmdy and asked politely when the next book would be released and she replied among other things that she was hoping to have it finished in August when she'd be back in Australia,as my letter finally reached her in the Czech Republic, and published early next year. She also said that it was lovely to receive my letter and know that the other books are still read, and are waiting for this book.
alice posts on 11/1/2006 6:20:10 PM I really hope your right about the sending coming out 2007 i read the series when i was 16 now im 28 thats 12 years ago! I really hope it lives up to expectations! im really worried due to the fact that it has taken her so long to write it, that the book wont have the same feel/atmosphere as the others.
